Why should I use a Migration Agent? | Migration law is complex and policies changes anytime of the year.A Registered Migration Agent have the in-depth knowledge required to navigate the difficult process. Can maximise the likelihood of a favourable outcome of your visa application and can help you avoid costly mistakes in the application process. It is not a requirement to engage the services of a registered migration agent but if you are not sure of the whole process, contracting the services of a migration agent is a wise investment. |
Shall I contract a Migration Agent or a Lawyer? | A migration agent is an expert in the field of migration. He is equipped with the right education and trained at school before he goes out in the world to sell his services. Whilst a lawyer, though had broader scope of knowledge, is not really specialising on migration arena (except for those lawyers who choose to specialise on migration, they are called migration lawyers). If your case needs to be raised to the tribunal or higher court, then, having the services of a lawyer is in order. |
Should I contract a Registered or Unregistered Migration Agent | In Australia it is illegal to give immigration assistance/advise without being registered with Migration Agents Registration Authority(MARA). With registered you are protected, they are bound by a Code of Conduct. With unregistered (although cheaper usually and mostly operating overseas) you run the risk of getting wrong advises, visa refusal and possibly a 3 yr ban. Unprotected by Australian consumers rights, they could walk away and you can't go after them.Plus all your fees/cost will be forfeited. |

On what specific pathway, it will be determined upon your consultation with your migration agent or through the department’s website. Again, if you are unsure of your pathway for migration, it is best to invest on the migration agent’s professional services. |

However, if you are a skilled migrant, you do not have work yet upon reaching Australia but you have all the rights to look for any kind of work.
